Speakers:

Rev. Dr. Nicholas Louh

Presiding Priest Protopresbyter The Reverend Dr. Nicholas Louh was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 25, 1974, and currently serves as the Senior Priest of St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church. Upon graduating from the University of North Florida, Rev. Louh entered Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated with a highest-distinction Master of Divinity (1999) and a Master of Theology (2000). He then attended Gordon Cornwell Theological Seminary where he earned a Doctor of Ministry (2003) with an emphasis on Pastoral Counseling in the urban ministry. Fr. Nicholas is known in both local and global communities as a devoted pastor, motivational speaker, and compassionate champion for those in need, and a passionate advocate for interfaith dialogue and social justice. Fr. Nicholas has a heart for guiding people through the difficulties of everyday life, by providing practical means to bridge their faith into their everyday life. He travels throughout the country leading retreats on understanding and living out God’s purpose. In addition to his role as pastor at St. John the Divine, Rev. Louh serves as on the Metropolis Council for the Holy Metropolis of Atlanta and is also on the Archdiocese Council for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. He is also an Adjunct Professor of World Religions at the Florida State College at Jacksonville and is the chaplain for the Jacksonville Sharks Arena Football Team. He also proudly serves on several local and state boards, including OneJax, an interfaith organization. Together, Fr. Nicholas and his wife, Dr. Roxanne Louh co-host a weekly radio show on Ancient Faith Radio entitled, “Live with the Louhs” on Tuesdays at 8p.m. In addition, they co-author daily inspirational messages through email and social media. Fr. Nicholas lives in Jacksonville with his wife, Dr. Roxanne and their two children, George and Gabriella.

 

His Grace the Right Reverend Bishop Gerasim (Eliel), Rector of the Cathedral, Administrator of the Diocese of the South

Born in 1961 in Torrance, CA, Bishop Gerasim attended the University of California Irvine and later the University of California Santa Cruz. He entered the St Herman of Alaska Monastery in 1981, was tonsured a monk in 1992, ordained to the priesthood in 1995, and elevated as Abbot of the monastery in 2000. He served as Abbot until August 2009, regularly visiting two monasteries in Alaska from 1996 to 2009, and overseeing an Orthodox mission in Guayaquil, Ecuador. In 2012 he graduated from St Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary magna cum laude, and was elevated as Archimandrite in 2013. Since September 2013 he serves as Dean of St Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral. On Wednesday, June 30, 2021, His Grace Bishop Gerasim was enthroned as Bishop of Fort Worth by His Eminence Archbishop Alexander. Besides English and Spanish, Bishop Gerasim speaks the Russian language fluently.
